Correction on Link Popularity and Banners

In a recent issue of Doctor Ebiz, I said that both banners and links increase link popularity. Though this is correct, reader Tim Jones makes an important point on how Google evaluates incoming links:

"Google uses the textual words in the link as part of its relevancy/ranking algorithm to determine how important that link really is." -- Tim Jones, Aquarian Technologies

So, for link popularity purposes, banners are good but text links that include relevant keywords are even better.
