"I am using Google AdSense on my site, but I am thinking about not using it. Because they don't show the percent revenue share in the report, it's hard to trust them. Recently my clicks were going up, but my earning was going down.
Do you know any ad serving program that can report clicks? I am thinking of hosting advertisers myself. I need a easy-to-use program that shows how many clicks were made on text link advertisers #1, #2, #3, so on." --Chang
It is kind of irritating that Google doesn't reveal its revenue share with its "partners." However, we don't have much choice but to trust it regarding click-throughs. I don't believe that Adsense is cheating us. It would have way too much to lose if word of fraud on its part began circulating. For my sites, at least, I think Google AdSense will bring in the most revenue. Since it has tens of thousands of advertisers, it usually provides good ad matches and appropriate keywords for my webpages.
AdSense has changed its pricing, however. Since the advertisers' sales conversions from PPC ads on content sites are lower, Google now pays less per click for content site ads than it does for the same keyword sensitive ads on search engines.
It is possible to find software to serve your ads on your site and bill advertisers. However, the work required to find, persuade, sign-up, and collect for advertising deals for your site is likely to be too time-intensive for the money you earn. Instead, investigate ad networks. Though your revenues through them will be pretty low, they may provide some income so long as their advertisers are a good match for your site.
