PayPal Buyers Survey (July 2004):
What Merchants Gain from PayPal as a Payment Option

PayPal Buyers Survey 2004How important is it for merchants to include PayPal as a payment option? Does it make any difference to sales revenue? In July 2004 Web Marketing Today conducted a survey to examine how buyers feel about PayPal and what motivates them to use PayPal when they have a choice.

This 53-page report provides Editor Ralph Wilson's analysis of the data and his conclusions about the effect of offering PayPal as a payment option. In addition to analysis and graphs of the quantified portions of the survey, the report offers hundreds of brief comments from respondents that reveal their motivations in using PayPal, their thoughts about PayPal as an e-commerce platform, dislikes and problems with PayPal, and reasons some people have no PayPal account or have allowed theirs to lapse. In all, the report provides important insights into a buyer's mindset towards PayPal and offers guidance for merchants considering offering PayPal as a payment method.
