E-Commerce Transactions with Mobile Devices & Cellphones with Andy Bovington (9:00)

Andy Bovington with Bango explains three types of mcommerce transactions that his company facilitates: (1) Pay on the phone bill, which is most popular by far, and facilitates impluse buying. (2) Credit card payments, which are quite secure over mobile devices. (3) PayPal payments. Transaction costs to pay via the phone bill are 30% to 35% of the purchase price in telephone carrier fees.

Most transactions are for digital content and tend to be quite small amounts. These are typically ringtones, wallpapers, music, and digital videos. Tangible products are not sold this way, except magazine subscriptions.
