How to Get Top Ranking for Your Distributed Articles - Shari Thurow (7:39)

Dr. Ralph F. Wilson , Web Marketing Today - Dec 1, 2009

In this video interview search marketing expert Shari Thurow explains how to write articles and distribute them on the Web, while still retaining the top search position for the article.

First, ask distributors to link back to your original article -- not to your home page. The backlinks are highly weighted in ranking your original. The Canonical tag only works to point to the primary article on your own site, not to multiple copies across the Internet. Being first to post the article can help you retain top ranking on blog search engines. Also, in your articles, link to articles within your own site.

Thurow also recommends a bio page that links to all your articles as well as archiving your articles. Deleting articles with links to them will hurt your overall linking structure. She suggests using Copyscape.com plagarism and distribution checker.
