Corey Rudl Dies in Car Crash June 2, 2005

Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, Wilson Internet Rocklin, CA - Jun 3, 2005

Corey RudlInternet marketing guru Corey Nicholas Rudl, 34, of La Jolla, California, died Thursday, June 2, of injuries suffered in a racing crash at the California Speedway in Fontana, California. The track was being rented by the San Diego chapter of the Ferrari Owners Club. According to the Associated Press, Corey was a passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, which went out of control, left the inside track, careened onto the grass, hit a barrier, and caught fire at 10:40 am. Though wearing a seat belt and helmet, Corey died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver, Benjamin Miles Keaton, was airlifted to Loma Linda Hospital, but died about an hour later.

I was shocked to hear of Corey's sudden death. I got acquainted with Corey when we were both speakers at Jay Abraham's Billion Dollar Internet Marketing Summit in Los Angeles, January 2000. Though our marketing styles are quite different, I appreciate the significance of his contribution. His legacy will not be in the money he made -- though he knew how to make money. His legacy will be found in the inspiration, training, and marketing tools he offered to Internet marketers all over the world. He has empowered thousands of e-businesses and helped to create revenue for countless small businesspeople and their families.

Corey, thank you for your contribution to Internet marketing. Your work lives beyond you. We have lost an Internet marketing pioneer, and I have lost a colleague whom I have always considered my friend.

More information about the accident can be found in the San Diego Union, June 4, 2005. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/20050604-9999-7m4racers.html
