Measuring Your Influence on Twitter with Twitalyzer - Eric Peterson (5:36)Dr. Ralph F. Wilson Web Marketing Today - Jul 21, 2009 |
In this video interview Web analytics expert Eric Peterson describes his analytics tool, Twitalyzer, which measures five fundamental aspects of a person's or company's use of Twitter: influence, signal, generosity, velocity, and clout. Factors that influence these metrics include number of followers, references by others, retweet others, and others retweeting your posts.
Social media analysts use Twitalyzer to report on Twitter influence to their clients. It can also be used to assess brand influence. The Twitalyzer Pro (beta) version, available by contacting @erictpeterson, calculates the hidden cost of twittering, based on your hourly pay rate, underscoring the point that time is money.
Eric T. Peterson of WebAnalyticsDemystified.com is the owner and developer of Twitalyzer. He is the author of three books: Web Analytics Demystified, Web Site Measurement Hacks, and The Big Book of Key Performance Indicators. This interview was taped in May 2009 at the eMetrics Marketing Optmization Summit in San Jose, CA.
