How to Identify and Report Click Fraud with Jon Meyers (5:46)

Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, Web Marketing Today - Jun 24, 2008

Jon Meyers from MediaVest in the UK explains how to identify possible click fraud by examining patterns of click-throughs in your websites log files or Web analytics. Things to watch out for include many clicks without conversions, many clicks from areas outside your normal market region, or even sudden conversion rate drops without other explanation. Check to see if the search engine has already discounted bogus clicks from these sources -- letting them through but not charging you. If this isn't the case, then report these to search engines who often make refunds when they can verify the behavior.
