HitBox Commerce v2 is designed for larger, enterprise-level companies. Though
company representatives are very guarded about the price, it begins in the
thousands of dollars per month and goes up from there, depending upon the
company's needs. Unlike approaches that analyze huge logfiles, HitBox Commerce
v2 is accessible to marketers without adding in-house IT support.
New features included with HitBox Commerce v2 (taken from the company website):
- Product Abandonment and Checkout Conversion Rates . Retailers can see which products have the highest and lowest abandonment rates during the checkout process. They can also view extensive cart and checkout conversion information.
- Powerful Merchandising Analysis . Cross-reference a variety of merchandising reports to identify actionable information about how to sell more products. For example, if an e-commerce manager needs to promote a certain product, he or she can see in real-time which marketing campaigns have sold the most items.
- Multi-Store Tracking . Track e-commerce activity for more than one store, as well as get an aggregated view.
- Custom Variables . Define your own custom variables. For example, a clothing retailer could look at sales activity for size and color.
- Improved User-Interface . All relevant information can be shown to the user from within the same view. Discounts and ASP (average selling price) have been added to the tables.
- Cross-Sell Reporting . Cross-sell reports can now be run for a custom date range. Additionally, they also provide the number of orders with each cross sell.
- Conversion Funnels . In easy-to-read graphical charts, HitBox Commerce allows users to see the conversion rates for their entire site, from the number of unique visitors and carts started to checkouts started and number of items actually bought.
When one of WebSideStory's staff walked my through a WebEx demo of HitBox Commerce I could quickly see that the differences between HitBox Professional 3.0 and HitBox Commerce v2 are not just in terms of scale.
- Variables. Professional tracks sales by a few variables (commerce total, order number, category, page title), while Commerce tracks many variables (including campaign, SKU, price, discount, taxes and shipping, state, ZIP, etc.). In addition merchants can set up custom variables to track, such as size.
- Analysis. Professional provides limited analysis in its Commerce section, mostly using graphs. However, HitBox Commerce provides a high degree of analysis using any variable you like, with conversion rates calculated on various bases. The ability to drill down to get all kinds of information is amazing.
HitBox Commerce is usually sold to enterprise level companies as an add-on to HitBox Enterprise. However, it can be sold separately. After a set-up fee, pricing is $1,500 per month for up to 10,000 transactions.
If I managed an e-commerce site doing a high volume of retail sales, HitBox Commerce would be one of the tools I would ask for to help me increase sales. Very impressive.
