Translating Titles and Meta Descriptions for International Search - Glenn Alsup (5:30)Dr. Ralph F. Wilson Web Marketing Today - May 5, 2009 |
In this video interview, Glenn Alsup of Viewmark.com explains that if you can sell your products internationally, even translating and localizing your titles and meta descriptions can help international search engines list your content -- even though your body text may be in English. He says that some companies are now using XLIFF files (XML Localization Interchange File Format) to send to translators, then bring back into the company content manager.
With this approach, a company might get listed in local search engines such as Baidu (Chinese), Naver (Korean), and Yandex (Russian).
This interview was taped in November 2008 at the PubCon Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
