If you're looking for a general, all-around book on Internet marketing written by a savvy expert, you needn't go farther than How to Win Sales and Influence Spiders by Catherine Seda, a columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine. Seda writes with an easy style of someone who is a practitioner, not just a journalist, who has tried the various Internet marketing techniques she recommends.

The book covers most of the important areas of Internet marketing: search engine optimization (SEO), article marketing blogging, networking in social media, online press relations, e-mail marketing, affiliate marketing, pay-per-click advertising on both search engines and publisher sites, and selling in shopping communities such as eBay,

A book this size can't be exhaustive. For example, in her chapter on article marketing, Seda doesn't mention using article directories to get your article picked up by e-zines you may not know about, nor does she provide much information about selling products online. However, Seda has succeeded in producing a truly readable digest of knowledge and insider tips that promise to take the novice quickly into the thick of Internet marketing. Strongly recommended for those looking for an excellent overview.
