Paperback, 266 pages

Many online small businesses straddle two worlds -- both online and traditional markets. For the website there's HTML, but how can you develop printed materials -- cards, newsletters, postcards, newspaper and yellow page ads  -- for your business? This book weds instruction in excellent design principles with Microsoft Publisher, a powerful and accessible tool that I use continually.

The author, Roger C. Parker, is the design genius who taught desktop publishing to an entire generation through his Looking Good in Print, now in its sixth edition. In the first half of Design to Sell, he explains principles of design. The second half is quite practical as he explains how to use Publisher to put the designs into print. A related site contains examples, templates, and additional content. Strongly recommended for "real world" small businesses.
