by Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, Editor
Projections by ActiveMedia are that business-to-business sales will comprise nearly 80% of the $1 trillion Internet sales in 2001. How do wholesale sales needs differ from those of retail sales. CGI/Perl Cookbook

Cgi/Perl Cookbook Craig Patchett and Matt Wright (John Wiley & Sons, 1997). If you run a commercial website, then you'll find the programs in this book extremely useful. Their FormHandler program alone is worth the price of the book. It enables you to build an online datafile from form input, as well as send an e-mail confirmation. Within a secure server, this program can be used as part of a secure ordering system.

Two other programs I've found useful: Authenticate, which sets up a password protection system with a database of usernames and passwords, and Webshop, which is a basic shopping cart program written in Perl.

You may purchase the book online at a substantial discount.
