Strengths: Having the list hosted somewhere else rather than a desktop program is the way to go in my opinion. Postmaster General's price is reasonable and they have thought through the details. I have another friend who emails to a list of tens of thousands with no problems. Their service is fairly decent. The signup form is sometimes a little slower than I would like--not a problem if you collect your own addresses.

Weaknesses: See previous.

Missing? Faster signup form for a snappier experience at my web site.

Strengths: The ability to create sublists from your mainlist. Also the simple queries which are built in that enable you to target specific states job type etc etc

Weaknesses: Reporting features you can have reports emailed to you on a daily/weekly/monthly basis but in the version I am using which runs $200 a month you cannot run your own reports.

Missing? Cheaper click through tracking.

Strengths: Since it is hosted somewhere else I don't need to worry about using my company resourses for the actual sending of the e-mails. Also since it is web based I am not dependent on my PC to e-mail.

Weaknesses: The fact that the opt-out footer is fixed with language that I don't always want to have. Also if you're not carefull the names you add or delete in bulk get added to the wrong sub-list.

Missing? The ability to do click tracking in a cost effective manner (they have a VERY expensive option to do that). And also the need to give me the option to customize the opt-out footer.
