Auction Interface
Shopper's Guide to Shopping Cart Programs
Web Commerce Today, Issue 75, December 8, 2003
You sell both in auctions and in your online store and are going crazy. You need a system that will help to integrate your e-commerce and auction sales so they can be managed by a single program.
Most shopping cart systems can be used as a place where auction customers can pay for their purchase, but some are designed to manage both product placement and sales on both an online store (or catalog) as well as auction sites such as eBay. Of course, PayPal is the most popular auction payment system, but it doesn't provide product management.
There are certainly a number of software programs that focus exclusively on managing auctions, but they're out of the scope of this report. The following products allow you to have an online store and help manage your auctions.
Zoovy Merchant* (www.zoovy.com) is designed to run both a online storefront, but also launch your product ads to a number of auction sites including Yahoo! Shopping Auctions, eBay, Amazon.com, and epier. Allows you to schedule auction launches, post bulk listings, add hit counters, track, monitor and tune your auctions.
StoreFront* (www.storefront.net) has features to automatically market products on eBay, Yahoo! Auctions, Ubid, and DealTime. This is a full-featured shopping cart and catalog system.
WebCart Professional Edition (www.mountain-net.com/ecom.htm) has a link to eBay auctions.
eStoreManager (www.eStoreManager.com) allows you to set up an auction in your own system, but doesn't interface with eBay and others.
