You need to be able to program the entire catalog management and ordering system to handle specialized needs and features. Perhaps you need full control, but prefer not to start from scratch.
Generally these systems are built with an open code system, such as PHP, Cold Fusion, or ASP. Perl carts are widely available and can be modified by programmers, but no longer on the cutting edge of dynamic web programming. Here are some of the programmable carts I found.
