Developing an Internet Marketing Plan, Pt. 5
Positioning and the 4 Ps of Marketing
Issue 79, May 1, 2000

Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, E-Commerce Consultant

Dear Friends,

I'm continuing my series on developing an Internet Marketing Plan. I know that this may seem irrelevant to your small business. But I guarantee you, that this kind of thoughtful planning is vital. A decade ago my wife and I built a house. It seemed like it took forever to design the features, and then draw the plans of each system in the house. Only much later did actual construction begin. But it was worth it, because the final structure was sound.

Your business will only succeed as you give it your best planning. No business magically makes money. Even if you don't have to write a formal Internet Marketing Plan for your boss or to obtain funding, the discipline of writing your own copy will pay you rich rewards in success -- and avoiding serious mistakes that you'd never uncover without this rigorous approach.

I wish you every success -- business, personal, and spiritual,
