Developing an Internet Marketing Plan, Pt. 6
Pricing Your Products and Services
Issue 80, May 9, 2000

Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, E-Commerce Consultant

Dear friends,

We have been exploring how to develop an Internet Marketing Plan for several weeks. I hope by this time you understand that website promotion -- as important as that may be -- is only a small portion of the overall marketing planning that will make your online business a success. In this issue we're looking at the another P of the 4 Ps of marketing -- product, place (distribution), promotion, and pricing.

P.S. I am excited to announce an easy way to incorporated my weekly column, Doctor Ebiz, into your site, as an integrated e-business column for your site visitors. And it's extremely easy -- and free of charge. I'll explain below.

God bless you,
Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, Editor

Every site on the web has a pricing strategy, but most are guesses not deliberate marketing choices. And most will lead to business failure. Here's how to develop your own clear pricing strategy. Read the Article.

Web Examples of Deliberate Pricing Strategies

Calling E-Commerce Consultants

If you're an Internet consultant, then I want to make sure you know about the resources I have for you. Our Web Marketing Info Center http://wilsonweb.com/webmarket/ has links to 3,000+ articles on web marketing. But we also cover e-commerce in great depth. Our E-Commerce Research Room http://wilsonweb.com/research/ has links to 3,000+ articles on e-commerce, from examples of e-commerce approaches in many industries to shopping cart reviews to designing an online store to maximizing sales with a healthy conversion rate. It's all available in a searchable database http://wilsonweb.com/cat/ There's really nothing like it on the Web -- anywhere. And for newbies to e-commerce, ALL THE BACK ISSUES of Web Commerce Today are online so you can quickly learn your way around e-commerce. I charge $49.95 annually for this service including the twice-monthly e-mailed issues of Web Commerce Today.

It was praised in the January 31, 2000 Business Week as "bar none the best e-commerce resource out there." If you're a consultant, just one nugget of help you find for your client will more than pay for the whole year. If you're a developer or a merchant, one point that saves you a costly mistake will more than pay for the whole year. When it comes to how signficantly Web Commerce Today will help your business, $49.95 is a bargain -- no doubt about it!
Think of it as a profit center rather than a cost item and you'll be right. http://www.wilsonweb.com/wct/

E-Business Content on Your Site

I am excited that I can offer you your own updated Doctor Ebiz column each week for your site visitors -- now in your own webpage template with your own site's look and feel. It's accomplished by two lines of JavaScript without the use of frames. Here's an example of how this worked when I pasted the JavaScript into my wilsonweb.com format. http://wilsonweb.com/webmarket/doctorebiz.htm

You'll need to visit http://doctorebiz.com/syndicate/ to complete the Syndication Agreement and register, but here's how it works. You paste the following code into the appropriate spot in your webpage's HTML template:

<script language="JavaScript" src="http://doctorebiz.com/syn/doctorebiz1.js"> </script>

That's all there is to it. Then FTP the page to your site, link to it, and your visitors can see it immediately.

What you get out of it is regularly-updated content by an e-business expert, so you small business visitors will love it. Visitors don't leave your site -- clicking on links in the column creates a new web browser so your visitors always come back to you. About 10% to 15% of the readers subscribe to the e-mail version, and even that process takes them back to your page. I think this is a win-win for both of us -- and for your site visitors.

I have extended my offer of a FREE copy of my 38-page ebook "A Guide to E-Mail Newsletters" that I normally sell for US $12 -- if you begin syndicating Doctor Ebiz on your site before the end of May. http://doctorebiz.com/syndicate/
