I am delighted to announce that Web Marketing Today has crossed the 100,000 e-mail subscriber mark -- the same week, in fact, that my Doctor Ebiz newsletter http://www.doctorebiz.com reached 25,000 subscribers! I remember when Web Marketing Today began in November 1995 with about 250 e-mail addresses. My deep thanks to each of my loyal subscribers whose suggestions and support have brought Web Marketing Today the wide recognition in the industry that it enjoys today.
I'm also proud to announce that our entire 6,800 article database and 100+ webpages of links in various categories have all been checked in the last two months. As you know, URLs change rapidly. My daughter Ann has meticulously checked each URL, found articles that have moved, and deleted the ones no longer to be found. Sure, you'll find some 404 errors -- the URLs are still changing. But overall, you'll find that her hard work will save you lots of time and frustration finding what you're looking for. You can search our online database http://wilsonweb.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi or search for a keyword found anywhere on our website http://wilsonweb.com/search/ Read the instructions to get the best results from each type of search.
With this issue we are beginning a series on banner advertising that will
span the next couple of months. If you've given up on banner ads, it's time to
take another look. A lot of what I'll be sharing you know already, but I expect
you'll find a few tasty morsels among these articles.
Thanks to the more than 325 people who responded to my request for feedback on the Links Issue. I think we've got a solution that will meet everyone's need.
God bless you,
Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, Editor

Links Issue Solution
Thanks so much for giving me helpful feedback on how to best provide our WMT Links Edition URLs to you. By Monday, July 10, over 325 had responded and here was the "vote":
Links in a webpage okay: 60%
Send the links via e-mail: 40%
I doubt that 40% of the entire list of 100,000 really prefers the links e-mailed to them. This 40% represents the most interested and responsive readers. But it is still an extremely important and significant group. Some suggested that I begin a new mailing list that e-mails the links only to those who prefer that approach, but it is just too much work maintaining one more list (I already maintain six lists!)
In order to meet (nearly) everyone's different needs I've decided to make current links available in TWO ways:
On my website in HTML version (in a form which can easily be saved on the subscriber's hard disk), http://wilsonweb.com/wmt5/06links.htm and
By e-mail autoresponder which will e-mail the month's links in ASCII text format. mailto: Every month I'll use this same e-mail address send out the most recent month's links only.
And in every end-of-the-month Web Marketing Today issue I'll remind readers of both the links URL and the links autoresponder address.
I hope this works for everyone. Thanks again for your feedback.
