Listservers 2: Desktop E-Mailers, Gammadyne Review
Issue 109, February 12, 2002

Dear friends,

Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, E-Commerce Consultant Here's what's in this month's issue:

  • Comparison Chart of Popular Small Business Desktop E-Mail List Handling Programs
  • Review: Gammadyne Mailer 16.5

A common question is: "What e-mail program should I use to send out personalized e-mails?" Literally dozens of programs don't make it simple. Overall, e-mail merge sending programs are divided into two categories: (1) desktop programs and (2) ASPs (Application Service Providers) with a Web interface. Some are very good; others are mediocre.

I've spent dozens of hours researching these programs, and I've just scratched the surface. Over the next few months I'll be providing selection information, product reviews, and user feedback to help you with your selections.

I have joined a number of affiliate programs for the more popular mailers in order to bring in a bit of revenue, but I've done my best to keep my comments fair and balanced. My goal is to help you find the program that best matches your needs, budget, and experience level.

US map showing cities for the Winter-Spring 2002 tour Before I share this month's article and review, let me invite you to the Doctor Ebiz® Internet Marketing Seminars I'll be conducting this Winter and Spring in San Francisco (Feb 27), Los Angeles (Mar 1), Chicago (Apr 23), Washington DC (May 21), and Atlanta (May 23). I hope you'll attend one so I get a chance to meet you and perhaps get acquainted over lunch. Topics: (1) site promotion, (2) e-mail newsletters, (3) e-mail marketing strategy, and (4) maximizing sales on your website. The early bird price is only $229 (save $36), plus I'm "giving away the store" -- giving you a free download of all my business e-books (a $159 value) as soon as you register online. Plus you'll get a $25 rebate on your ticket for each person who attends from your recommendation. You can see I'm trying to make it real easy for you to attend.
