Collecting Customer Information
"Collecting and Using Data from Your Website Visitors," 7/1/98. Outlines strategies to use HTML forms to collect information from site visitors. Suggests using "qualifying questions" to help determine how good a prospect the visitor might be.
"How to Get Customer Data AND Newsletter Subscriptions," 7/1/98. Describes a two-step process to signing visitors up for a newsletter: (1) a box that takes only their e-mail address, and (2) a subsequent optional form that takes more information from those willing to give it.
